Japan Budget Tips: Places to Stay Start from $12 USD in Osaka, Japan

Yesterday I’ve released an article telling you where to stay in Tokyo on the cheap… However, some of these options are not for everyone and it's good just for a quick rest (for example catching the earliest train.) Here are some budget-friendly options without making you sacrifices comfort in Osaka.

1) Park Inn (click to book)

Located within 30 seconds walk from the Don Butsumaen subway station, 5-minute walk from the scenic Tennoji Park and 4-minute walk from Shinsekai, the location of Park Inn is unbeatable. If you are coming from or going to the airport, Shin Imamiya station on the subway line to the airport is only a few minutes walk away.
The property also features a public bath and cozy Japanese-style rooms with futon beds on tatami floor.  Although the room is fairly basic (well, with this price), at least you get a whole room to yourself, privacy well-assured. Hence Park Inn is quite popular among solo travelers.
The staff at Park Inn do not speak excellent English, but they understand you well enough. Plus point is, they are very considerate. Even though the check-in time is from 3:30pm-11:00pm, they will let you check in early (if your room is ready) or late without extra cost. However, the checkout time is an unbreakable rule since they need to clean up the place.
Price: Single Rooms from $12.62 USD (RM53)
Address: 557-0002 Osaka Prefecture, Osaka, Nishinari-ku Taishi 1-2-16, Japan –

2) Lore Hostel Dotonbori (click to book)

Lore Hostel Dotonbori literally has Dotonbori at its doorsteps. With only 300 m from the famous Glico Man Sign and 501 m from Namba CITY shopping mall, exploring Osaka at night become stress-free as you do not need to worry about the last train. Also, it is located 300 m from Nippombashi and 500 m from Namba station. So, you can easily take the subway to enjoy all Osaka has to offer!
One of the best things about this hostel is having a 24-hour front desk. Besides, their dorm beds are very spacious(good news for tall people), and they do have curtains for added privacy.
Again, the staff does not speak excellent English, but they do try their best to convey a message. They are very responsive to feedback too, so if you aren't satisfied with a certain aspect, let them know and they’ll happily learn from their mistakes.

3) Osaka Hokko Marina Resort Guesthouse (click to book)

If you are a solo female traveler looking forward to bring out the kid in you at the Universal Studio Japan, look no further, you’ve found the right spot.
This Guesthouse is located far from the center of Osaka, but it is near to Universal Studio, and the best thing is? They will arrange free shuttle bus!
You might have noticed that I recommended this Guesthouse, especially for female travelers… yes, because it is very female-friendly. The property mostly offers female only dorms and economy rooms to ensure that girls feel safe in their dorms. There are no mixed dorms yet so it is especially suitable for our Muslimahs. However, if you are a male, don’t feel disappointed. You can still stay at this place by booking a Delux Cabin on Boat! Not exactly a budget option, but it is special enough, isn’t it?
Another bonus for travelers who enjoy beautiful sea views with a drink in their hands, Osaka Hokko Marina Resort features a barbecue area and a seasonal pool with views of the sea.

Despite situating in a quiet part of Osaka (Namba is 10 minutes away by train), there are supermarkets and restaurants within a 1-minute walk away. Tsuruhashi Station is 900 meters away.
