Murmansk: Restaurant Terrasa

Trying a Salmon dish (preferably a wild Salmon!) is a must when visiting Murmansk. If you are not a fan of Salmon, try other seafood!

We eased our craving for good seafood at Terrasa. For as low as $5, you'll get a superb meal with beverages, what a steal!

Recommended eatery: Terrasa Lounge Cafe
Address: Lenina Ave., 69, Murmansk 183038, Russia
Phone: +78152377377

Recommended Dishes:

Cod, breaded in greens, mashed potatoes with butter/
Треска, панированная в зелени, на картофельном пюре с укропным маслом  410руб.
Review: Who doesn't like flowers on the plate? The dish was served to a macho guy and he loved it. The potato puree is one of the best I've tasted in Russia: creamy

Halibut with Ratatouille /
Палтус из дровянной печи с овощным рататуем   520руб.
Review: Crunchy at the outside, juicy, tender and bursting with flavours in the inside! When my food was served, I did not start tasting before spending a good 10 minutes photographing it. The plating was too beautiful, too colourful and too creative. I was worried that it won't live up to my high expectations but the moment I took the first bite, I realized that sometimes we can just go ahead and  judge a book by it's cover.

Tartare on Aubergine cream /
Тартар из мраморной говядины на креме из баклажана  450руб.
Review: When you order tartare, you'll want it well handled and I am glad Terrasa did an impressive job. The beef was fresh and minced to a perfectly smooth texture, raw but surprisingly pleasant. The dish was wonderfully plated, with crunchy dried bread adding to the texture.

Seafood Platter/
Тарелка морепродуктов  650руб.
Review: The Seafood Platter came absolutely gorgeous with the most amazing sauce (generous amount of salmon roe blended in). The shrimps, oyster, squid, and scallops are perfectly cooked, fresh and juicy! If you are not sure what to order, you can't go wrong with this!

Atmosphere:

What an unexpected find with great food, high-end service, cozy setting, and surprisingly inexpensive! The moment we stepped into the Lounge, we were met with friendly staffs who take off our winter coats and showed us to our seats. Love the ambiance, especially the greens all around as they created a relaxing, cozy atmosphere. The window seats have nice panoramic view over central park, and it seems to me that Terrasa is a popular place for a romantic date (lots of couples around that night.) Waiting time is bearable, the kitchen is capable of handling big menus and get the job well done in quite a short time. Bonus for having well-trained English speaking waiters around to serve foreigners. I'll rate it a full 5 STARS, and I can easily rate it as one of the best Russian restaurants I've been to.

After dinner, Mr Oleg came pick us up at the restaurant and then off to the airport. We were blessed to catch 3 more Aurora Borealis in action. Oh boy, what a journey!
